October 17, 2013Dear Sir,I have read recent articles referencing the Bermuda Regiment and to avoid public misunderstanding:1. The hourly rate for a basic private soldier is $17.87 (not $7.75).2. A private soldier’s initial enlistment period of service is 3 years and 2 months (40 training periods and a 2 week training exercise per year). Upon completion of solely their basic duties during their initial enlistment period they are expected to earn not less than $13,000.3.
