Arch Reinsurance Ltd. is opening a branch office in Zurich, Switzerland. The new office will focus on regional business that is complementary to the existing relationships of Arch Re in Bermuda. The new office will also have a strong emphasis on the broker market.

The office will operate as Arch Reinsurance Ltd., Hamilton (Bermuda), European Branch Zurich, and will be headed by Helmut Sohler as president and chief executive officer and Bjorn Bucher will be the chief underwriting officer.
