Business travellers jetting between Bermuda and London on British Airways are guaranteed a good night?s sleep ? or they will be upgraded to first class on a future flight.

The airline ? which operates several flights to and from the Island every week ? said that through the end of the year this offer will be available to new and existing members of its Executive Club. The company?s ?Best Sleep? guarantee promises that those in Club World will ?have the most ideal environment in which to sleep?.

?At British Airways, we?ve designed our business class to provide everything you need for a good night?s sleep. We guarantee it. If you?re not completely satisfied, tell us why via our (online) Best Sleep survey and we?ll award you a complimentary one-way upgrade to first class on a future flight.?

A locally issued Press statement said: ?During the same period, the airline will also award double miles to Executive Club members who register for the promotion, purchase and complete one transatlantic round-trip or two one-way transatlantic sectors in Club World.?

British Airways said past customer surveys had shown that flyers on late departing flights rate getting some sleep as one of their highest priorities.

Robin Hayes, BA executive vice-president for the Americas region, said: ?We think Club World offers the best sleeping environment of any business class...we?re backing up our contention with one of the most exciting promotions offered in the airline business.?

The airline said its ergonomically designed Club World seats had been designed following extensive customer research.

The end result? Seats have a range of six recline positions (including a six-foot long bed) that are powered by the push of a button.
