Bank makes it easy for travellers to obtain US dollars at Airport

Frequent travellers will heave a sigh of relief after Bank of Bermuda announced that it has installed an ATM machine that dispenses only US dollars at the Airport.

So now all ticketed airline passengers will be able to use the machine in the US departure terminal to take out dollars for their travel - bypassing queues at banks and charges levied on taking out US dollars in cash.

Danny Fox, head of community banking for Bank of Bermuda, said: “The addition of this US dollar ATM at the Airport complements our existing convenient services that are available to customers for obtaining US dollar cash for travelling.

“Customers can use any of our bank branches to obtain US dollars cash, or they can take advantage of the advance order telephone banking service.”

The ATM is currently up and running and beginning yesterday travellers could take their US dollars out from the machine.

The bank said that this service allows customers to call in and place their cash orders ahead of time and save time by going in to any branch to collect it.

Philip Butterfield, chief executive officer at Bank of Bermuda, said: “The bank is very pleased to provide Bermuda's first US dollar ATM for the benefit of our customers and the community. “This new service is another example of the positive and exciting changes happening at Bank of Bermuda which are resulting in improved products and services for everyone.”

This is the third new product the bank has unveiled in two weeks. The first came last week when the bank put its first HSBC funds on their lists for the local market, and this week they announced they were cutting interest rates on all loans by 0.5 percent to 6.5 percent.
