Bank of Butterfield drops 50 cents

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index dipped yesterday after Bank of Butterfield shares lost some ground.

Bank of Butterfield, which has been creeping up the scale, breaking record after record in the past month, dropped 50 cents to close at $42.

This in turn pushed down the index by 12.02 points or 0.41 percent to 2,891.75 on a volume of 742 shares worth $26,093. No bonds traded.

The BSX report on Monday incorrectly stated that Bank of Butterfield's market capitalisation had nearly reached $1 million - this should have read $1 billion. The Royal Gazette apologises for this mistake.
