Logic to provide Internet access at BHA member hotels

Bermuda Hotel Association has signed a three year contract with Logic Communications to provide all its members with long distance, Internet and other related services, the group announced yesterday.

The massive deal was announce yesterday by John Harvey, chief executive officer of the Hotel Association and Jeff Hamill, chief executive officer of Logic.

"Logic Communications has agreed to provide very attractive long distance and Internet services to our member hotels," said Mr. Harvey. "They also have the capability of providing attractive prices for computer software equipment, plus other products, which are meaningful to the day to day operations of a hotel."

Mr. Hamill said that Logic was pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the Hotel Association. He said: "Especially as tourism plays a vital role in Bermuda's overall economy."

Oil Insurance joined by two companies

Bermuda-based energy insurer Oil Insurance Ltd. yesterday announced that two further energy companies had joined its ranks.

The company, which is based in Hamilton, said that this fell in line with a continuing trend of more energy companies joining its membership (also as shareholders).

Yara International ASA, which is based in Oslo in Norway joined on March 25 and is a global leader in the production, distribution and sale of nitrogen-based mineral fertilisers and related industrial products. The other company is XTO Energy Inc. of Dallas, Texas which joined Oil as of April 1. This company acquires and develops oil and gas properties and also processes, markets and transports oil and gas.
