Bermuda Business Shorts

West Hamilton Ltd. has been listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange main board for domestic large capitalisation companies.

West Hamilton, formerly Bermuda Bakery Ltd., has seen its share price ? and hence its market capitalisation ? soar since it closed its money-losing bakery business and restructured itself as a real estate business.

It has announced plans to redevelop the two-acre Bermuda Bakery site on Pitts Bay Road into a five-building office complex. West Hamilton, which in August said its net income for the first six months of 2006 rose 22 percent to $587,793 compared to $480,608 in the same period in 2005, last traded on October 24 when its shares closed at $60, giving it a market capitalisation of $17.3 million. The benchmark for listing as a main board company is $15 million, the BSX said.

MediaHouse Ltd. said it intends to redeem its eight percent cumulative redeemable preference shares by December, 2006, subject to the company having adequate financial reserves to do so.

MediaHouse said in a press statement that it fully expects to be able to effect the redemption and will make a further confirming announcement closer to the intended redemption date.

MediaHouse also said the company?s chief financial officer, Stephen Harrison, is no longer with the company.
