BSX falls in heavy trading

Trading was heavy on the Bermuda Stock Exchange last week, with $1.7 million worth of shares changing hands.

But The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index dipped by 27.5 points after three stocks lost ground.

Bank of Butterfield lost 25 cents on Friday to close at $44 after holding strong all week on volume of 19,907 shares worth more than $875,000.

LOM, which traded a bumper 80,000 shares, lost five cents to finish at $3.70.

KeyTech, the parent company of BTC and Logic lost $1 to close at $12 on volume of 12,607 shares.

The index closed down 0.85 percent at 3,231.12 on a volume of 131,250 shares worth $1,700,850.15.
