BSX Index gains

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange gained more than 11 percent yesterday on a busy day of trading which saw over half a million dollars worth of stock change hands.
The largest volume of shares traded was Argus Insurance, at 9,900 which rose 20 cents to finish at $26. Bank of Butterfield also had large volume trades at 6,427, but it closed unchanged at $44.50.
Bermuda Commercial Bank gained 15 percent or $1.50 to close at $11.50, while BF&M lost 20 cents to finish at $15.75.
The index closed up 0.35 percent or 11.41 points at 3,284 on a volume of 16,711 shares worth $548,707.50.
