BSX index jumps

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index climbed 8.53 points, or 0.27 percent, yesterday to close at 3,204.45. Leading the advancers was Devonshire Industries which jumped $4 to close at $15 on volume of 500 shares. Watlington Waterworks closed $2.50 higher to $9 and LOM (Holdings) Limited added $1.10 to $4. Belco Holdings closed 50 cents higher to $38. Bermuda Aviation Services dropped $2 to $9 and Bermuda Container Line Ltd. shed 50 cents to $9.50. Argus Insurance Co. Ltd. was 25 cents lower to $25.75 and Bermuda Commercial Bank closed five cents lower to $9.70. Bank of Butterfield was unchanged at $44.25.
