Butterfield reaches record high

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange index yesterday gained 26 points after Bank of Butterfield broke its 52-week high - reaching $40.50.

The bank gained 50 cents or 1.3 percent and traded 13,100 shares yesterday. The only other share to trade was BF&M, which gained 60 cents or 6 percent to close at $10.60.

The index closed up 0.57 percent at 2,845.06 on a volume of 13,400 shares worth $533,730.
