Cooney's contract renewed
Over the holiday weekend, Bermuda-based Max Re Capital Ltd. announced the renewal of chief executive officer Robert Cooney's contract as well as the appointment of executive vice president and chief risk officer of the company's subsidiary Max Re Ltd., Peter Minton, to its board of directors.
Mr. Cooney's contract as chairman, president and CEO was extended for another five years according to a Press release. Mr. Cooney said: "Having established Max Re as a world-class reinsurer and insurer in its first five years, I look forward to continuing to build the organisation during the next five years."
The newest addition to the board of directors, Mr. Minton, has been with Max Re for the past four years. Prior to joining the company in Bermuda, Mr. Minton served as managing director and head of fixed income research for Scudder Kemper Investments from 1999 to 2000. Previously, he had served for three years as a senior vice president of investments at General Reinsurance Company and was the principal and head of fixed income strategy at Morgan, Stanley & Company from 1991 to 1996.
