Digicel names country manager

David Hunter, a ten-year telecommunications expert, has been appointed as country manager for Digicel Bermuda.

As country manager, Mr. Hunter will use his experience as a leader of successful companies to support Digicel?s role in leading the development of mobile communications on the Island.

J.D. Buckley, regional chief executive with responsibility for Bermuda said: ?David?s proven leadership and experience in the telecommunications industry positions him to successfully lead Digicel to become the number one mobile telecommunications company in Bermuda.?

His past roles include managing director for Celtel International, one of the largest mobile operators in Africa.

He also previously served as managing director of Celtel Sierre Leone and Telecel Zambia.

Mr. Hunter, a Scottish national, is a qualified chartered secretary and fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.
