Doughty returns home to practise law

A Bermudian lawyer has returned to the Island to practise litigation with the firm Trott & Duncan.Allan Doughty completed his clerkship in Nova Scotia and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar on February 1, 2002.From that time on, Mr. Doughty practised law in the Greater Halifax area until his return to Bermuda in May. Mr. Doughty said he has an interest in all areas of law, both civil and criminal.

Allan Doughty completed his clerkship in Nova Scotia and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar on February 1, 2002.

From that time on, Mr. Doughty practised law in the Greater Halifax area until his return to Bermuda in May. Mr. Doughty said he has an interest in all areas of law, both civil and criminal.

Mr. Doughty, 30, is a graduate of Mount Saint Agnes Academy and subsequently received his Bachelor of Arts from Dalhousie University and his Bachelor of Laws from the Dalhousie School of Law in Halifax.

"I hope to do the best job I can possibly do," said Mr. Doughty.

Mr. Doughty is the the son of Allan Doughty, Jr. and Iris Deveney-Doughty and was born in Paget in 1973. He has resided between Bermuda and Canada throughout his lifetime holding citizenships with both countries. Mr. Doughty is married to Marielle Doughty of Saulnierville, Nova Scotia and has two daughters Marie-Jeanne and Christelle.
