Dunkley?s Dairy rejects ?no milk delivery? claim
Dunkley?s Dairy has hit back at claims by businessman Richard Powell that he could not get milk deliveries on Saturday.
Mr. Powell is closing down his Lines Food and Liquor Mart in Ord Road, Warwick, due to falling business after Hurricane Fabian.
He said another problem he had was Dunkley?s would not deliver milk on a Saturday, even though it delivered to nearby premises such as Warwick Gas Station.
But owner Michael Dunkley said the company ?bent over backwards? to help Mr. Powell and said he could have got his final delivery of the week on a Saturday rather than Friday if he wanted.
?I am disappointed he is closing and I was not aware that he was, but to say he couldn?t get a delivery on a Saturday is way off base,? said Mr. Dunkley.
?If he wanted Friday pushed to Saturday, we could have done that, but Mr. Powell likes to complain but doesn?t like to resolve things.?
He said the company delivered a set amount to Mr. Powell?s store and would not charge for any produce not used.
Mr. Powell was given the option of ordering as much produce as he wanted, but he would not get a refund for unsold goods, but he refused, said Mr. Dunkley.
He said Dunkleys was even prepared work out a 50-50 split on unsold milk, but Mr. Powell wasn?t interested.
