?How to turn your piece of the rock into a gem?

Bank of Bermuda is offering to educate anyone thinking about renovating their house about the various ways they can pay for it by holding public seminars on financing home improvements. The seminars, entitled ? How to turn your piece of the rock into a gem?, will take place on Tuesday 26 October, Thursday 28 October and Tuesday 2 November at Bank of Bermuda, Compass Point Building, Bermudiana Road, Hamilton, starting at 5.30 p.m. Frederica Forth, business development manager, personal loans at the bank, will conduct the seminars and offer information on the financial options available to consumers for home renovations.

?The bank hosted several extremely successful seminars earlier this year on ?How to own a piece of the rock?, with over 350 members of the public attending? said Ms Forth. ?We are delighted to be able to host another series of informative seminars for the community on the financing options available for home improvements.? She added that the bank offers various products and services for financing home renovations which are designed to suit the individual needs of customers, including, consumer loans, home equity loans, home equity lines of credit, construction loans and home mortgages.

Ms Forth continued: ?With the bank?s low interest rate on personal loans, it is more affordable now for home owners to renovate their existing properties and turn them into the home of their dreams.?

The bank has partnered with several local consulting service providers and contractors to develop the seminars, including Benevides & Associates Architects, Sousa?s Landscaping Management Company and Hasco Construction Ltd.. Ms Forth said that these firms will have representatives available to share information on what to expect during the renovation process, how to work with an architect, what to look for in a contractor and landscaping improvement ideas that can add the most value to a property.
