Industrials may be a good investing bet

Within the world of financial markets, ?industrials? are considered to be those companies that manufacture, produce or distribute goods and/or services. Currently analysts are focusing on companies that will benefit most as capital-spending recovery finally takes hold.

Last week the company reported an operating revenue increase of 21 percent for the three months ended April 30, 2004.

This is relatively stable industrial play for most portfolios, and should be considered a viable candidate for one?s book of investments.

American Standard Co.

American Standard is a global, diversified manufacturer of high quality, brand-name products in three major product groups: air conditioning systems and services; bathroom and kitchen fixtures and fittings; and vehicle control systems for medium-sized and heavy trucks, buses, trailers and utility vehicles. American Standard is among the three largest providers of products it manufactures in each of its three major business segments in the USA.

Earning per share went up 31 percent to 1.14 (per share) in the first quarter, and second quarter numbers should hold some consistency in the same manner of growth.
