Cycle dealer World Distributors has been taken over by new owners after long-time owner Toby Trott decided it was time to retire.

The company, located at 49 Serpentine Road, are the on-Island dealers for both Yamaha and Malagutti cycles.

The sale was hailed as a perfect fit, according to Mr. Trott, as one of the new owners, Michael Araujo also runs A&P Marine which sells Yamaha watercraft and outboard motors.

Mr. Araujo's partner in World Distributors is Eugene Bothello.

Mr. Trott told The Royal Gazette that the company was started by his father 50 years ago.

He has been on board for the past 30 years but said it was now time for him to step aside and let in a "new style of management".

Mr. Trott said the company was sold as a going concern including the retail department and the company's repairs and spare parts division, and all staff were reportedly being kept on by the new owners.
