Par-la-Ville proposal
Another commercial construction project is in the works for the north end of Hamilton. A company called Sago Ltd. has applied for permission with the Department of Planning to construct a new mixed use commercial office building at 9 Par-la- Ville Road. The 9,800 square foot site is surrounded by M.R. Onion?s, the Institute for Talented Students and the Quickie Lickie Laundromat. An existing vacant building will be demolished.
Architect Harold Conyers of Conyers and Associates was unable to comment on the plans or divulge the identity of his client, but documents filed with the Planning Department say that the access to the building would be via Par-la-Ville Road. The applicant has also requested permission to erect public art on the Par-la-Ville Road side of the building in lieu of the usual upper floor setback requirement.
The proposed building that is under consideration would have a basement plus six floors and total 46,360 square feet.
