Premier Alex Scott was yesterday welcomed at a breakfast hosted by the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM), according to a Government press statement.

?Ms Judy Hart, executive vice president, Endurance Specialty Insurance Bermuda, welcomed the delegates and expressed how delighted she was that Premier Scott was there, even at such an early hour,? the statement said.

?She went on to say that the Premier?s presence at the conference among a consortium of insurance representatives went a long way in showing the kind of support the industry received from Bermuda.?

Mr. Scott said that his administration?s ?primary focus? was its ?social agenda? but it was important to continue to recognise the leadership role played by international business in ?ensuring the strong economic base from which the implementation of the Social Agenda will evolve,? according to the statement.

Mr. Scott then toured the conference exhibit hall, visiting the Bermuda booth and the Cayman Islands booth, where representatives thanked him for Bermuda?s assistance in their hurricane restoration efforts. The Premier was also scheduled to meet senior ASHRM staff yesterday.

The conference ends today following an address by Mr. Scott.
