The inaugural roof wetting ceremony took place at the new Skytop Gardens development.

Officials, developers, contractors, owners and realtors gathered on Wednesday for the first completed building on the new development.

The site was cleared in December 2002 and D&J Construction Limited worked to meet the pre-set deadlines of the traditional Bermudian styled buildings.

Andrea Flood, owner and spokeswoman of Failte Limited, said: "We are very pleased with the progress on site, construction remains on schedule and presales are going well.

"The entire development, which sits on 1.82 acres of prime real estate in Paget will consist of five buildings and a total of 25 units when completed."

The complex was designed by Terceira Associates and completion of the project is expected to be next year.
