Steinhoff elected to bank board

Bank of Butterfield on Friday announced that Robert Steinhoff has been elected to the board of directors.

Mr. Steinhoff, a former partner at KPMG and Butterfield & Steinhoff, is also the chairman of the Insurance Advisory Committee and took up the post as of January 16. Board chairman Dr. James King pointed to Mr. Steinhoff?s record of professional expertise and accomplishment as he took up the post.

Mr. Steinhoff was elected to fill the vacancy left by Christopher (Kit) Astwood, who was elected to Bank of Butterfield?s board of directors on 17 June 1969 and who stepped down on 15 January this year, after reaching the mandatory retirement age. Dr. King acknowledged Mr. Astwood?s valuable guidance and dedication over the more than three decades he served on the board in a release sent to the Bermuda Stock Exchange.

Mr. Astwood is the chairman of J.B. Astwood & Son Ltd.
