Strong week for BSX

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index last week gained 38.03 points to close at 3,233.95.During the week the Bank of Butterfield saw trading of 16,576 shares and a price gain of 25 cents, pushing the bank's shares up to $44.50.Bermuda Commercial Bank also gained 25 cents on their share price, which closed at $10 on trading of 6,275 shares. BCB also saw their warrants gain $1.50 to finish the week at $3.

During the week the Bank of Butterfield saw trading of 16,576 shares and a price gain of 25 cents, pushing the bank's shares up to $44.50.

Bermuda Commercial Bank also gained 25 cents on their share price, which closed at $10 on trading of 6,275 shares. BCB also saw their warrants gain $1.50 to finish the week at $3.

Meanwhile, LOM Holdings saw trading of 4,500 shares with investors pushing up shares $1.10 to $4.

During the week, Devonshire Industries ? the parent company of Bermuda Paint ? also saw trading of 500 shares while the stock gained $4 in value to close at $15.

In the insurance sector, Argus Insurance shares fell 50 cents to $25.50 on trading of 11,251 shares while BF&M moved up $2.40 to $15. The company saw trading of 5,065 shares.

Bermuda Aviation Services Ltd. shares fell $2 to $9, while 1,100 shares traded. And Bermuda Container Line Ltd. gained $2 to $12 on trading of 1,750 shares.

In the utilities sector, Belco shares gained 50 cents ? closing at $38 ? while the company saw trading of 1,754 shares.

Watlington Waterworks also posted a gain of $2.50 on their shares to $9, and 1,000 shares traded.
