TeleBermuda International and US-based telecommunications company Internap have banded together to provide Bermudian customers with faster servers, voice-based services and virtual private networks (VPN) on the Internet.

Long distance phone company TBI, which also provides Internet service to companies, said the alliance with Internap would also help it to deliver services for TBI affiliate TeleCayman Ltd., which recently received a licence in the Cayman Islands, which is ending a monopoly on phone services.

Internap provides faster Internet routing by avoiding congestion on the Internet.

TBI?s President James Fitzgerald said: ?We look forward to our new relationship with Internap, the new services that we will develop and the superior network performance that will be provided for TBI customers.?
