West Hamilton jumps $5

West Hamilton Ltd., which is planning a major new office building on Pitts Bay Road, saw its shares jump more than nine percent yesterday to help drive up the Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index.

West Hamilton, formerly Bermuda Bakery Ltd., soared $5 or 9.1 percent to close at $60 on volume of 200 shares.

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 2.57 points to close at 4,952.82.

In the only other trade of the day, Butterfield Bank was unchnaged at $56.50 on volume of 64 shares.

The total value of the shares bought and sold on the BSX yesterday was $15,618.00 and the overall volume of shares was 264.
