NEW YORK (Bloomberg) — Marsh & McLennan Cos., the world’s largest insurance broker, said vice chairman John Sinnott will retire at the end of the year after more than 43 years at the company.Sinnott, who was chairman of the company’s Marsh Inc. brokerage unit until July 2003, returned as vice chairman of the parent company in July 2005 after serving in an advisory role during the ensuing years.

“Three and a half years after his originally planned retirement, and after more than 43 years of service to Marsh & McLennan, Jack Sinnott has decided to `re-retire’ at the end of this year,” Marsh & McLennan chief executive officer Michael Cherkasky said.
