A breakdown in telephone equipment at the Bermuda Electric Light Company should be fixed by the end of today, a company spokesman said last night.

Callers to Belco were prevented yesterday from getting through to the company's switchboard because of a fault in a device that transfers calls.
Spokesman Ms Linda Smith said callers could still get through today by dialling 955 or the main number 295-5111, which has a limited number of lines working.
