Continental said it will pay a performance bonus for April totalling $2.3 million to all employees.

This brings the total to $6.9 million over three months.

Continental's bonus programme, announced in January, pays a cash incentive each month the airline ranks in the top half of the Department of Transportation Consumer Report on time arrivals standing.

Continental ranked first for March.

Continental's 83.9 percent on-time arrival rate in April was 9.2 percent above the same month in 1994.

In April and May, employees received bonuses for the airline's 79.5 percent on-time arrival rate in February, 14.3 percent above a year earlier, and 83.1 percent on-time arrival rate in March, 14.4 percent better than March 1994.

Eligible employees will receive a separate bonus of $65 in mid-June pay.
