BA cuts fares to year low
fares of the year.
Fares will be $499 midweek and $529 weekends from November 1 through to December 6.
Travel must be completed by December 15, and the minimum stay is seven days.
Tickets should be bought by October 21, said BA's local spokeswoman Ms Sallie Singleton.
"Payment and ticketing must be made within 72 hours of reservation being made.'' Similar fare cuts were made last November on BA flights.
"Our fares are changing all the time. We thought we would reduce them again this November,'' said Ms Singleton.
She pointed out the normal November fare was $600.
"We are cutting the price by about $100.'' BA currently has three weekly flights to London's Gatwick airport -- on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
This summer the airline put on an extra Sunday flight for ten weeks.
The additional service ended on September 4 after proving "extremely successful,'' said Ms Singleton.
She said BA had provided the fourth flight after finding itself with a spare DC10.
The plane originally serviced Yemen, but because of the war there BA cancelled that schedule.
"British Airways only got the aircraft at the last minute.'' Ms Singleton said BA hoped to put on an extra flight next summer.
A very successful summer for the airline, boded well for Bermuda, she added.
