Bank appoints branch chief

As managing director, Ms Wong will have overall responsibility for management of Butterfield Trust (Singapore) Ltd., formed to provide a range of trust, custody, registration and administration services to the fund management industry in Singapore and neighbouring countries.
"Bank of Butterfield is pleased to have set up trust operations in Singapore.
"We have been made to feel very welcome here and are delighted to have qualified to provide a full range of onshore trustee services,'' said bank chairman Sir David Gibbons, in Sinapore to mark the opening.
Ms Wong started her banking career when she joined the trust division of Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong in 1981.
In 1991, Ms Wong was seconded to Singapore and in 1993 she joined Bermuda Trust (Singapore) Ltd., as director and general manager and headed that company until July 1995 when she joined Butterfield Trust (Singapore).
