Bear Stearns lists fund on BSX
listing on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
The Emerging Markets Fixed Income Fund is a professionally managed, open-ended investment company incorporated in the Cayman Islands in 1993 and licensed in on Bermuda October 1.
It is managed by Bear Stearns Funds Management Inc., a registered US advisor, and seeks to provide investors with high total return, emphasising both current income and capital appreciation, by investing primarily in a portfolio of debt obligations of issuers located in emerging countries.
Investments in the fund can be made for a minimum of $1,000.
A managing director at Bear Stearns, Edward Vaimberg, the portfolio manager of the fund said: "We chose the BSX due to its on-line Internet access, the large audience potential, and its progressive approach to world markets.'' BSX listing manager Mary Sousa said: "We welcome the opportunity to list this Bear Stearns Fund on the BSX and add another internationally recognised fund management group to our growing list of mutual fund companies.'' The listing of the fund was sponsored by MRM Securities Ltd., a subsidiary of Bermuda-based MRM Financial Services Ltd.
