The British security and alarm company also reported net income of $21.8 million on sales of $349 million in the fourth quarter. In 1992, the company took a loss of $4.9 million on sales of $329.5 million.

For the year, the company earned $111.7 million on sales of $1.383 billion compared to a $109.1 million on sales of $1.345 billion in 1992.

Earnings per share remained the same 80 cents -- for the quarter, they were 13 cents per share compared to a 1 cent loss in the same period a year earlier.

The results will be good news for the Island's long distance runners -- ADT sponsors the International Marathon every January.
