BIBA attracts more exhibitors to expo

International Business Expo, coordinated by Bermuda International Business Association (BIBA) and scheduled for September 19 at the City Hall car park.

Booths at this year's event have grown from 35 to 50 since last year's inaugural event. Notable additions to the list of supporting companies are PartnerRe Ltd. and EXEL Ltd.

The event is also expected to feature a larger representation from the tourism industry through the Visitor Industry Partnership.

Conceived and coordinated through BIBA, the first Expo took place last July, attracting 6,000 people, 50 participating companies and more than 100 volunteers.

It is designed to provide international business with an opportunity to interact with the community in a very direct way, and this year is themed "Partnership''.

International Business Week, a whole week of activities leading up to the Expo, features open air presentations near City Hall, contests that include a radio quiz, a presence at Harbour Nights, charity events and an open forum with industry representatives.

A variety of local entertainment will be featured during the day of the Expo, alongside an international food court. Sponsored booths are being used to disseminate information about corporate activities in international business.
