The last day for submitting tenders was Wednesday.

Ms Janice Burns, senior manager at chartered accountants Kempe and Whittle, said no details could be revealed until the firm's senior partner Mr. Charles Kempe returns to Bermuda on Monday.

The hotel was taken into receivership earlier this year for non-payment of banking debts. Owner Mr. Walter Roberts MP, the Deputy Leader of the Progressive Labour Party, is being sued for more than $220,000 by the Bank of Butterfield.

A buyer has been sought for the hotel since January and in August it was put up for sale by tender.

The hotel sits on a 0.6-acre waterfront lot and has 24 rooms, a swimming pool, a restaurant and is licensed for a maximum of 91 guests.
