*** SAVERS RECEIVE BOOST BUC Savers receive boost The Bank of Butterfield delivered some good news for savers yesterday, announcing an increase in interest rates paid on its strata accounts and fixed-term deposits. The Bank has upped its APR for its one, two and three-year fixed-term products by at least .25 percent in all cases. The rates for five-year deposits over $100,000 have also been hiked effective Wednesday. Also as of Wednesday, interest rates for Strata Savings Accounts have been increased to 4 percent for balances under $5,000, up from 3.5 percent.

Bank vice president and retail banking head Richard Doughty said, "Bank of Butterfield has taken steps to improve the rates it offers on its Bermuda dollar fixed-term deposits and its Bermuda and US dollar Strata Savings.
