BSE Index falls back: WEEKLY STOCKS UPDATE

Bermuda Home closed down 50 cents at $9 on volume of 1,625 while BF&M closed down 50 cents at $9 on volume of 1,350.
Staples preferred lost 37.5 cents to close at $8.75 on volume of 5,200 while Bermuda Commercial Bank slipped 12.5 cents to close at $5 on volume of 9,620.
Watlington Waterworks closed down 12.5 cents at $4.875 on volume of 17,147.
Hemisphere preferred gained 25 cents to close at $7.50 on volume of 515 while Belco closed up 12.5 cents at $20 on volume of 2,900.
Issues closing unchanged were; Bank of Bermuda, $18.50, 9,854, Bank of Bermuda warrants, $3, 3,640, Bank of Butterfield, $10.875, 2,025, Bermuda Bakery, $20, 2,000, Argus, $10.50, 3,900, Telco, $36.875, 63, and Belco 7% 1st. mort. nts.
1998 closed unchanged at 101 on volume of 10,000 units with a value of $10,100.
The exchange index closed down 5.50 points or .54 percent to close at 1,011.64.
Share volume for the week was 59,839 with a value of $566,869.75.
Total value of trading was $576,970.
