The biggest gainer for the week was Kentucky Fried Chicken stock which rose 50 cents or 11 percent to close at $4.50 on a volume of 2,000. The biggest loser was Argus Insurance which fell $2.50, or 19 percent, to $13.50 on a volume of 3,160.

Other gainers were Bank of Bermuda which rose $1 to close at $27 on a volume of 224,833, the Bank of Butterfield which rose 13 cents to close at $14.50 on a volume of 39,696, and Bermuda Home preference shares which rose 63 cents to close at $12 on a volume of 4,000.

Bank of Bermuda warrants fell 50 cents to close at $3 on a volume of 17,899.

Bermuda Commercial Bank fell 38 cents to close at $5.13 on a volume of 2,300.

Trading unchanged were Bermuda Home common shares at $8.63 on a volume of 11,415, Bermuda Computer Services at $11 on a volume of 74, TeleBermuda International at $8 on a volume of 2,875, Belco Holdings at $23.50 on a volume of 8,450, Bermuda Telephone Co. at $32 on a volume of 34,636 and $63,300 worth of Bermuda Hospital Bermuda denominated bonds at $105.50.
