but the index fell 2.845 points.

Shares in the Bank of Bermuda fell $1.00 to close at $29.00. Shares in its rival the Bank of Butterfield on the other hand gained $1 to close above its 52 week high at $17.50.

Bermuda Commercial Bank dropped 13.08 percent, or 85 cents to close at $5.65 and its warrants also fell 25 cents. BELCO rose 50 cents to close at $21.00.

The index closed down 0.19 percent at 1,487.86 on a volume of 58,004 shares worth $1,136,110.
