Holdings in 1991, has been appointed to the board of directors of Bermuda-based insurance firm ACE.
Mr. Renfrew's appointment fills the remaining seat reserved for people who have not previously been affiliated with any of ACE's policyholders.
ACE's chairman, president and CEO, Mr. Walter Scott, said: "We welcome Glen Renfrew as a member of our board. Under his leadership, Reuters experienced explosive growth and made the transition from a privately held company to a public company with listings on NASDAQ and the London exchange.
"He brings to ACE valuable international experience which should be most helpful to us as we expand outside of our traditional North American sphere of operation.'' Construction firm Burland, Conyers & Marirea have announced the following appointments: *** Mr. Walter Doug Redmond has become Vice President of builders supplies with overall responsibility for the purchasing and sales of building materials, equipment and other items. Mr. Redmond is also a member of BCM's Management Committee.
Mr. Philip C. Long has returned to Bermuda as Senior Estimator/Contracts Manager after managing BCM's Cayman operations for the last three years.
He has previously worked in Canada and the Caribbean, mostly with associated companies, and also spent three years with BCM in Bermuda in the mid-1980s.
Mr. Timothy Berry has joined BCM as Senior Estimator/Project Manager. His previous experience includes five years of quantity surveying and project management in Bermuda and nine years of quantity surveying in the United Kingdom.
On specific projects, Mr. Berry will be responsible for the preparation of tenders, contract negotiation and project co-ordination.
