injecting $200 million in capital into troubled US insurer Continental Corp, the Wall Street Journal reported yesterday.

The group, which is led by Texas investor Mr. Robert Bass and Chase Manhattan Corp., plan to make the infusion in order to avoid ratings downgrades by insurance company ratings services.
