Commodore completes purchase
ship Crown Dynasty on January 24 in London, the Associated Press has reported.
The 820-passenger ship is set to begin sailing from Philadelphia and Baltimore to Bermuda on May 10. It will offer 26 seven-night cruises.
Commodore has been chartering Crown Dynasty from its owner, Helsinki-based Neptun Maritime.
Meanwhile it has undergone a $5 million upgrading programme and is sailing to ports in the Caribbean under the Crown Cruise Line (CCL) name -- a newly-formed upscale brand of Commodore Holding Ltd. CCL is marketing the four-and-a-half star vessel to those seeking a somewhat more sophisticated and higher quality cruise experience at a moderate price.
The Crown Dynasty entered service in 1993 and is known in the industry as an elegant vessel with a full array of passenger amenities.
