Company lists 57 million shares
ordinary shares on the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX).
Asia Pacific Energy, incorporated in the Cayman Islands, was formed in 1994 by industrial and investment groups in Taiwan as a way of investing in electric power plant development and other energy-related businesses in the Asian region. The shares will be listed under the mezzanine market category, designed for issues by start-up or young companies considering an initial public offering in the future.
The minimum investment under the category is $100,000. Asia Pacific Energy's listing was sponsored by Matheson Investment management (Bermuda) Ltd. "We are excited with the listing of the (Asia Pacific Energy) shares as it brings the first of potentially many China direct investment vehicles to our unique mezzanine market,'' BSX CEO William Woods said. "We believe the investment opportunities in the Asian region are numerous, particularly in China, and we are very keen to provide a complementary service to these privately funded companies to increase their profile for future development and capital needs.''
