EOE setting up new company

Containers Ltd., is endeavouring to set up a new Bermuda-registered company, Eastern & Oriental Myanmar Ltd. (EOM).

"The proposed company, will be set up to research and look for proposed projects in Myanmar (Burma) with development of the company in preliminary stages,'' said a spokesperson for Sea Containers.

The firm of Appleby, Spurling and Kempe is acting as attorney for the applicant.

Details about proposed investment in a river cruise operation and luxury hotel project in Myanmar could be released soon, according to earlier reports.

EOE recently announced a profit of $10 million for first year operations.

The company's train service links Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok.

The train started its first run from Singapore on September 19, 1993 and has completed 122 scheduled and special services as well as contributing $2.5 million to regional rail authorities for rail infrastructure.

EOE is managed by London-based Venice Simplon Orient Express.
