However American Airlines has confirmed it will begin operating a daily service from Boston in April. The run will last throughout the high season until the end of October.

The flight, using a 757 aircraft, could bring up to 188 visitors to the Island.

Tourism Minister David Dodwell said: "This is exciting news and the resumption of the service will greatly compliment the existing air service options that are available between New England and Bermuda during the summer months.'' RBYC SET TO EXPAND PLN RBYC set to expand The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club has received planning permission from the Development Applications Board to construct a concrete breakwater and flotation system for a new marina.

The new marina, with 106 berths, will be built directly to the south of the existing facility at 15 Point Pleasant Road in Hamilton.

The breakwater will enclose the existing moorings and the floating docks will be constructed to allow owners get to their craft.

RBYC has applied to incorporate a local company with limited liability, to be called Point Pleasant Dock Corp. Ltd. which will oversee the six-figure development.
