Bermudians dug a little deeper into their pockets this Christmas with gross revenue in the retail sector increasing 5.1 per cent.

Those travelling home from trips overseas declared purchases worth $3.38 million -- an increase of 11.2 per cent over the previous year.

The total value of all retail sales for the 12 months of 1994 was $491.5 million.
