Index falls 5.96 points
on the Bermuda Stock Exchange last week.
The Index closed down 5.96 points at 1017.34 for the week on volume of 38,297 shares worth $480,269.
Telco led all gainers, up $1 to $36 on trading of just 300 shares. Bermuda Commercial Bank closed up 25 cents to $5.25 on volume of 1,000, and Bermuda Home was 75 up cemts, closing at the high so far for the year at $9 on volume of 1,722.
Staples Holding Ltd. 10% Pref. closed at $9.25, $0.12.5 higher than at the start of the week on a trading volume of 700.
Bermuda Press Holdings Ltd. was the most active, with stock that was off by $0.12.5, down to $8.00 after a flurry of trading, totaling 12,523.
Bank of Bermuda followed with trades totaling 8,595 shares, with the stock closing the week out $18.25, down $0.25. Bank of Butterfield was down $0.50 at $11.25 after a trade volume of 7,945.
BELCo Holdings Ltd. lost $0.12.5 during the week on a volume of 3,287, closing at $19.50.
Traded issues that remained unchanged included Bermuda home 8% Pref. at $12.00 (1,342) and Devonshire Industries at $10.12.5 (883).
The net asset value of Mezzanine Capital Ltd. rose three cents to $10.21, its highest for the year.
