Interior decorating business moves into new premises

foot commercial premises on Bermuda House Lane in Hamilton after two years of operating from the home of its owners, Harold and Ruth Kempe.

Mrs. Kempe is the interior designer of the business, while her husband looks after the technical side of affairs, such as painting and interior and exterior maintenance of homes and offices.

Mrs. Kempe said: "Our new premises is strictly an interior design and decorating showroom, not a retail outlet, although we do have accessories to sell.

"We don't carry large stocks of anything. We're pretty much a consultancy.'' She added: "Since we opened business has really taken off. We have a very strong client base. The business just grew out of control and we needed to find larger space.'' Howe Enterprising will take on a second interior designer in July to cope with an increasing demand for business. It has three girls working on commission.

The entity is operated as a partnership but plans to incorporate as a limited liability company.
