986.60, just three points higher that the year's low reached on Tuesday last week.

But the index still ended down almost eight points on the previous week's losing many of the gains made up to the beginning of this month.

The Bank of Bermuda continued its strong performance, hitting a new high of 43.50, up 25 cents, on volume of 851 shares. Bermuda Commercial Bank dropped to a new low of $6 -- off 50 cents on volume of 638 shares.

In the only other share trading of the day, Belco, which announced a 25 cent quarterly dividend, was unchanged at $20 with 400 shares changing hands. Two Belco 7% sub-convertible notes were traded -- up an impressive $12 at $116.

Stevedoring Services also announced a three-cent quarterly divided.

Total share volume for the week as $739,924.75, bond volume was $92,932.
