jumped by $1.75 to $28.50 on the Bermuda Stock Exchange on Friday on a volume of 500.

Bank of Bermuda stock continued its recent climb in value, rising by a further 50 cents to close at $24.25 on a volume of 15,057. Bank of Butterfield stock went up by 25 cents to $28.25 on a volume of 750.

Trading unchanged in value were the stocks of Argus Insurance, which closed at $11.50, with a volume of 1,425; Bermuda Press (Holdings), $9, 4,138; and Belco, $21, 10,125.

The Exchange Index went up by 13.19 to end the week at 1,192.66. The total value of shares and bonds traded during the week came to $2.065 million.

Dividends declared were: Bank of Bermuda, 20 cents; Bank of Butterfield, 25 cents; Bermuda Bakery, 20 cents; Long Botham Boats, 20 cents; Argus Insurance, 12 cents; BF&M Ltd, 10 cents; Bermuda Press (Holdings), nine cents; and Telco, 50 cents.
