Shares in the Bank of Butterfield, Argus Insurance and BF&M each went up by 25 cents. Butterfield shares closed at $28.75 on a volume of 892, Argus ended at $11.50 on a volume of 200, and BF&M climbed to $9.75 on a volume of 100.
The biggest rise of the day was in BF&M's nine percent preference stock, which rose by $5 to $12 on a volume of 4,250.
Trading unchanged in value were the stocks of the Bank of Bermuda, which closed at $25, with a volume of 12,537; Masters, $10.25, 2,137; Belco, $21, 193; and Bermuda Fire & Marine Insurance, five cents, 3,040.
The Exchange Index closed at 1,217.83 -- up by 4.66 on the day.
